Hello new readers! Well, I guess that would be all of you, because this is a new blog. I’ve been wanting to start one for a while though but I’ve been a little concerned about just shouting into cyberspace with little or no listeners. So I’ve decided to kick off this new project of mine with my Blogging Against Disableism Day Post. Since BADD takes place tomorrow, that entry will be posted here then.
A little about me: I’m a 21 year old undergraduate at a liberal arts college in Massachusetts. I suppose I’m studying something like American history/American studies/anthropology. Next year I begin my fourth and (hopefully) last year of college, embarking upon my school’s ridiculously intense version of the senior thesis. I’m hoping that I can use this space to get a little bit of feedback on research techniques and thoughts on the project. I’ll let you know more about that once I actually get started on it.
I’m very passionate about the work that I do and the things that I study. I read about pretty much everything I can get my hands on. Book suggestions are always exciting, and hopefully I’ll write some informal reviews on here too.
In addition to that I’m also dealing with a chronic illness, a learning disability, and all the complications that come from those issues. More on those later.
This is a terrible time for me to start a blog, actually, since I have a million final papers due next week and I haven’t gotten very far on any of them. So please, if I’m a little spotty on posting for the next few weeks, please stay with me! This summer I will be blogging much more frequently, hopefully at least three times a week, maybe even more. I’m not sure how much I’m going to reveal about my identity or that of my school. I’m sure I’ll figure that out in the next few days too.
Welcome to the new blog! Hope to see you back here tomorrow for a post that’s actually interesting!

Welcome! I just started this hobby too. It’s addictive. Contrary to your claims you picked the best ossible time to start a blog; what could be more fun than a set of constant distractions from the work you are supposed to be doing?
See you on the BADD post day.
